Indistractable by Nir Eyal

Indistractable; How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life, was a book that I saw on Audible and loved the title, so I thought, hey, why not. We can all use some tools on how to control our distractions.

Well, this book was spot on and delivered some hard truths that we could all hear on how to get crystal clear on our priorities and values so that we can control our attention. Dealing with distraction starts with what’s going on inside of us.

As I’ve said before, distractions and procrastinations are habits we develop to avoid what can feel hard or uncomfortable. Listen to this book if you are serious about getting a handle on your distractions and focus on what’s important in your life.

Winning by Tim S. Grover

This is the second book that I’ve read by this author. He was the personal trainer to some high-profile athletes like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Warning, there is a lot of masculine energy in his books and there were times I actually bristled at his harshness.

What I have learned, when I don’t 100% agree with someone, is to take what lands for me and leave the rest. I don’t have to like it all but this book had some golden nuggets that I will use and quote in my business. I particularly liked his formula for controlling your emotions. Our emotions can lead us down paths that are not in our best interest or in alignment to our goals. We have to learn how to control our emotions so that they don’t control us.

The Intimacy of Race

The Intimacy of Race by Eva Medilek (ME!) is now on Amazon kindle! The positive feedback that I continue to receive from those who have honored me by reading my book, continues to fuel my intention of working to bring us together. My client, Connie, just told me that my book poked her in all the right places. I loved that analogy. There’s a lot you can read that hits you like a sledgehammer. For some of us, that may be good and for others of us, that can scare us into silence and inaction.
