It's an emotional time in our country and no doubt, felt in other parts of the world.
Most of us are trained to avoid the feelings of pain and discomfort and steer away from them.
But growth and change are in the pain of our discomfort. How do we process the many levels and colors of pain and discomfort from the Derek Chauvin trial?
How do we learn the skills of being resilient when we are feeling pain? Monsters fade with light. Mental resilience is about the truth of light being shed on things.
What we are seeing in our country is the light being shed on the ugliness of systemic racism. As we stop hiding from the pain of what we are seeing, and communicate and open our hearts and mouths, we become resilient.
Resilient not by silence, but resilient by seeing what is uncomfortable to see and not looking away. Resilient by feeling the pain and still showing up to fight for what we believe is right.
How do we summon the courage to talk about these things? Well, instead of the mental toughness that most of us are used to, let's start with emotional openness.
But yet, it takes courage to be open, real and vulnerable about the what we are seeing light being shed on right now. But how?
I'll be talking about this and other ways we can show up as our best selves in my SUCCESS WITHOUT SACRIFICE masterclass on April 29th @4:00pm Pacific.
