Life can sometimes feel like you are racing in the Indianapolis 500. When you are a driven, high achiever, you take on a lot and you love it.
However, just like those cars on the speedway, there comes a time when you need to get off the track and have a pit stop.
That's exactly what I chose to do this past weekend. I got in my car and drove 1.5 hours to Calistoga, CA....ALONE!
That's right. Alone. It was time to unplug from the race and take a pit stop to re-fuel and re-energize my mind and my body.
Initially thoughts of I can't, who do I think I am?, how can I justify the expense?, the world will implode without me, the dog will miss me, etc., etc., etc., flooded my thoughts.
Then, I came to my senses, booked the spa and off I went to wine country to pamper my little self, away from social media and life's obligations.
It was glorious! And, I came back refreshed and a better, healthier version of myself.
When we don't take care of our minds, bodies and spirits, it can cost us dearly.
That's what I talk about in Therese Skelly's podcast, Fiercely Brilliant. You can listen to the episode here
