Hello ,
Welcome to "What's Eva Reading?"
I've taken my intention to read more books very seriously this year. Reading books, for me, has been a way to not only up level my knowledge, but to inspire and encourage me to continue to grow and learn.
Every time that I experienced frustration or overwhelm in my life, I've turned to a good book to motivate me to soldier on.
Here are the latest books that I've recently completed. Loved, loved, loved them both.
The Secret Thoughts of Successful Women by Valerie

Impostor Syndrome is real. We all experience it at some point in our lives. Women seem to succumb to the restraints that impostor syndrome imposes on us more readily than men.
This does not mean that men are immune. It does mean that we all get to move past this feeling and into our abilities without the fear, frustration and fatigue that holds us back.
This book reminds me that what I do is so powerful in creating high performance in life as well as in business.

Badass Habits by Jen Sincero
As a huge fan of all things Badass, I couldn't wait to read this book. The practicality and humor in Jen Sincero's writings inspire me to tell better stories while reminding me that we can have fun while we grow in personal development.
Now, if you've been following me for a while, you know I'm about all things habits. Habits that turn you into a high performance ninja in every area of your life.
Whether it's a morning routine, energy breaks or consistent bedtime, habits are the cornerstone of performance and results.
This book makes developing new habits while ditching the not-so-good ones, fun and guilt-free.

The Intimacy of Race by Eva Medilek
Of course, I highly recommend my book, The Intimacy of Race. With all of the hate being thrown at minority groups these days, this book continues to be relevant.
This should be THE 1ST BOOK for anyone working to consciously understand systemic racism in America. An easy, yet deep and enlightening read. Simple steps and conversation topics to crack open hearts & and generations of misinformation at the dinner table. Sharing with my kids AND my parents TODAY.
Eva Medilek offers such grace in every word. Clearly a master at holding space for others. Thank you. Jo

Typically, when I read a book, I'll start with the Audible version first. I'll listen to in the shower and on walks with my precious Lexi. And, within a week or two, I will have completed it.
If I really LOVE, the book, I'll get the hard copy and read it again while taking notes, highlighting and dog-earing all of my insights and AHA's.
That's how my bedtime reading takes place. It's either a good book or my guilty pleasure of People Magazine. (hey, it doesn't have to be serious all the time)
If you've got any books that you love, reply to this email to share them with me. I'm always looking for good reads.
All the best,
