Apparently, someone started a twitter feed by asking folks to share a photo that they posted of themselves on social media where they were actually going through a tough time, but appeared perfectly fine and happy in the photo.
Well, thousands of responses poured in where people shared the reality behind those seemingly cheerful photos of vacations, selfies and happy family photos.
People confessed to being depressed, having mental health issues, fighting with their spouses, being suicidal, being broke and the like, while smiling happily for the photos.
So, basically, what you see portrayed on social media is not what’s going on in people’s actual lives. Much like my friend.
Well, she's not alone.
I have spoken to friends, family members and colleagues, in private, about their life and relationships, and to marvel about their posts, only to have them reveal how truly miserable they are in real life.
There’s no love. No intimacy. No passion left in their relationships. They are not happy. But you would never know it based on their posts.
It’s actually sad how we sacrifice our real happiness, in order to appear happy to others.
I share this with you because if the events of this past year have taught us anything, it's that your prosperity, health and life can change in an instant.
Why spend it pretending or going through the motions to appear that your life is better or happier than it is?
Wouldn't it be better to create that Facebook life in real life?
You know, I was able to help my friend to take action on her life and in her relationships. She is on the path to living the amazing life she had been portraying on social media in her real life.
I know you are ready to stop pretending and start living your life to it's fullest potential and happiness, but you may not know how.
Let's create some clarity and a game plan as to what it would take for you to start focusing on what's really important to you.
