There are many people that I have spoken to, who are ready for something more, different or better.
A lot of folks are realizing that they have been prioritizing the wrong things and it's been at the expense of their health, wealth, success or relationships.
For some, it took being on lockdown, to realize the value of their health and relationships.
For others, they know what's important, but have let other distractions or competing interests, put their priorities on the back burner.
I think it's safe to say that wanting more for yourself can be a very good thing.
The question is, are you WILLING to do what it takes to have more?
Last March was the last time I traveled professionally. The pandemic shut down all in person events 5 days after I returned home from that event.
On that trip, one of my colleagues was sharing with me, her desire to lose weight and find love.
Now, I've seen her on many other previous events over the years and she's had that same desire every time.
After a while, I started to wonder if this desire was strong enough to make it a priority in her life.
You see, there was never any committed action that would move the needle forward to making her desire a reality.
No health habits added, no dating profile created, nothing that would created any of the desired results. Just a wish.
She was ready for something more and perfectly capable of having something more. What was missing was the willingness to do what it takes to achieve something more.
Unfortunately, that's the case for most folks. When it comes to the action part, most folks are not willing to be uncomfortable or do the work necessary to create the results we want.
Here's why. It's the 3 pains that we fear, that keep us from the willingness to try.
- The Pain of Loss
- The Pain of the Process
- The Pain of the Outcome
What if we lose something? What if the process is too hard and we fail? What if we don't get the outcome we expect?
These pains keep us stuck in the cycle of wishing without doing. In the end, we are not willing to risk experiencing any of the pain that taking action might involve.
Are there any areas in your life that you are wishing were better, but you are not taking any action towards creating?
I've helped many clients get past the fear and into action to create the results that they wanted to receive in their live.
Here's what my client Amy had to say about her experience working with me.
