Hey {{ subscriber.first_name | capitalize() or "friend" }},
I’m starting out the year with some exciting news! You know that I have a passion for teaching others to become better Allies to Black, Brown, and BIPOC. Last year, I led the Allyship Awareness Forum and created The Intimacy of Race Facebook group so that we can all have more productive conversations about racism, and our role in stopping it.
Seeing these things take off, I realized that we really are making an impact together, so I wanted to take it a step further. This year, I'm dropping my new BOOK, The Intimacy of Race, to reach more people about becoming better allies.
This book is an amazing resource to educate, equip, and empower you with information, strategies, and real stories from women of Color. It's a great buy for you, or gift for someone you love. More information will be coming soon, but since you're on my e-mail list, you'll be the first to know!
Now for even more exciting news...I have been featured on the Brainz 500 Global List for 2020. This list is chock-full of impressive people such as Mel Robbins, Simon Sinek, Kamala Harris, Elon Musk, Jay Shetty, Gary V. and so many others! I am so honored to be in the company of these leaders, entrepreneurs, and influential people
working to make the world a better place.
I’ve been a fan of Brainz Magazine for a while, and have written several articles for the magazine over the past few years. I’m overjoyed to continue partnering with them to share my knowledge and learn from the best.

Stand Together As Allies Against Hate
Martin Luther King Jr. Community Church
|
Some of you may not realize, but even in 2021, hate crimes still exist. Today, just as in the past, Black churches have been targets of these hate crimes, vandalism, and even fires at the hands of white supremacists.
Last month, this hit close to home for a member of our Allyship Awareness Forum community. On December 28th, Dr. Terrlyn Curry Avery’s local church in Massachusetts was set on fire, being the latest in a string
of incidents of vandalism surrounding the church in weeks prior.
Here’s the good news: time and time again, our community has STEPPED UP. While we can’t turn back the clock, we can support Dr. Curry’s church, congregation, and surrounding neighborhood by giving money to rebuild what has been lost. Their goal is to raise $25,000 to rebuild the church and support the congregation through this difficult time. If you are able, you can leave a donation here.
