Hey {{ subscriber.first_name | capitalize() or "friend" }},
The holiday season is a time to examine our blessings and give generously to friends, family, and to our communities. I’ll be sharing a little more about what me and my dog Lexi are planning to do this holiday season for the homeless in our community on my social media later this month.
But I also want to share about a cause started by one of my dear clients, Jacob.
|
The Sherlock's Homes Foundation
Everyday, an estimated 400,000 young people experience homelessness. My former client, Jacob Reide Jennings experienced this first hand. When Jacob was in high school, he found himself homeless after coming
out as gay to his parents. He went on to graduate from high school and many years later, came to me for high-performance coaching. Jacob wanted to help others just like him, so we worked together to make his dream a reality. Through hard work and dedication to the cause, Jacob started the Sherlock’s Homes Foundation. Sherlock’s Homes provides housing, employment opportunities, and a supportive community for homeless LGBTQ+ young adults to live fearlessly as their authentic selves. Jacob believes
that by creating a support system, these individuals will see that they are welcome, accepted, and needed in this world.
In coaching, we talk about how our past affects our present, and how to create a better future. I am so proud of Jacob for taking this message to heart, and using his story to make the world a better place for others.
