It's Father's Day and Juneteenth and I'm here in NJ with my Dad and my daughter. Daddy will be 90 this November and I'm honestly so blessed to still have him in my life.

Yes, the old man drives me crazy. But it's a short drive anyway and I wouldn't have it any other way. In his life there are stories of pain, trauma, and resilience that inspire me to keep going everyday. I'm so fortunate to be raised by someone who had to make his way in Jim Crow south to create a life for me that was better than what he had to endure in racially segregated times.

I used to take for granted, the stories that he would tell. But as I finally had my moment of awakening, I feel proud to have him see me do the work that I feel called to do around Cultural Inclusivity and Intelligence. 

To be able to write a book, dedicate it to my dad, and show it to him (he's not gonna read it, there's no pictures 😂), and have him know the impact that he and his stories have on me and many others, is priceless.
