Hey {{ subscriber.first_name | capitalize() or "friend" }},
Are you paying a price for taking a stand in what you believe?
It's hard not to be affected by everything you see and hear on the news and social media outlets.
Seeing violence carried out and hearing hate being spewed on all sides is taking a toll on your health, your well-being and your relationships.
The fear, the frustration and the fatigue that you, and the world, are experiencing is very real.
Are you feeling disappointed in the way your family, friends and colleagues are reacting to the events in our world?
Are you surprised at the number of people that you thought you knew, that don't share your views and beliefs?
Are you experiencing emotions that move through you like some sort of roller coaster ride?
I get it. Just when you think that there is no way that some of the people you know can say and do certain things, you are left with a bit of a rude awakening.
Relationships are being tested at a level they have never been tested before.
New bonds are being formed while old, familiar bonds are being broken. The more you take a stand for your beliefs, the higher the price you pay.
In an effort to reduce the emotional toll that the hate rhetoric is having on me, I recently made a facebook post request of the people on my friends list to de-friend me if they don't believe in racial justice and equality.
To my utter surprise and great disappointment, someone I had been friends with for over 20 years, took offense, got defensive and was the first to challenge and de-friend me.
Honestly, I was not surprised, but my level of disappointment was raised. I was hoping that she would reach out for a conversation, once I stated that we shouldn't debate this over social media.
But she chose not to, and just like that, our relationship has shifted. I felt hurt and disappointed that she only chooses to engage on social media. But as I'm sure you know, a lot of people have more courage on social media than in an intimate conversation on the phone.
I share this experience with you because you will pay a price for taking a stand. It will cost relationships in many areas of your life and some will surprise you.
Very few people are meant to be in your life for the entire journey. They are meant to be there for certain times in your life.
There will come a time when they leave you and their void is filled by someone who is aligned to where you are currently in your journey and where you are heading.
Breakups are painful. It's hard to feel the anger, hurt, pain and disappointment, while still showing up as the highest version of yourself.
If you find yourself struggling with frustration and fatigue as a result of your engagement, or perhaps even silence, in these interactions, I want to create a plan of persuasion with you.
You need an effective plan when your emotions threaten to intercept the impact you can have in these situations.
If you are paying the price in your health, well-being and relationships, book with me today and let's create that plan together.
The conversations we are having have never been so deep and powerful before. You need to be armed with the tools to have them effectively.
Can't wait to meet you!
