Hey {{ subscriber.first_name | capitalize() or "friend" }},
In the current situation of a worldwide pandemic, I'm sure you, like myself, have been required to postpone some of your staple self-care routines.
Things like manicures, pedicures, hair cuts and color, massages, waxings and the like. The sort of things that help us look and feel our best. Focusing on the ladies here for a second. Sorry guys.
One of the things that came up for me was, yes, I do these things for myself, but I also do them for my spouse as well. I take care of myself for us. I am happy and healthy for us. I want to feel good for us.
Ladies, here's what I always, sort of knew... we put way more weight on these things than is necessary.
Where I am, the gyms, hair salons, nail salons and massage parlors are still closed. So, having some of these "luxuries", has fallen by the wayside.
Honestly, I was really disappointed by this at first. I won't be as "together" as I usually present. Yikes!
But here's the reality, he still loves me and we are still married. I'm not sure how much he even notices that I haven't had painted nails in months.
Ladies, this is true for most men. Yes, it's nice to look nice, but how does your partner/spouse feel when they are with you? Who are you being in the relationship that foster's intimacy and connection.
What I'm saying is, be the partner/spouse who is kind, attentive, compassionate and fully present in the relationship.
Don't worry about the things that don't carry much weight in the relationship. Be your best self!
What have you been realizing during the pandemic? Has your perspective on certain things shifted or changed in any way?
I'd love to hear what has been going on with you, with all that's been going on in the world.
Reply to this email and let me know. I want to know what this experience has created in your life.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
