Dear , I went to an Asian New Year’s party and learned a bit about leaving the year of the Snake, which was the year of shedding, and entering the year of the Fire Horse, which is courage in action. What the NFL and the Superbowl Reveal about Leadership Under Pressure – Medium Magazine By Eva Medilek
|
The NFL doesn’t get it right a lot of the time, but this time they gave it their best shot. From Coco Jones, a
Black woman, singing the Negro National Anthem, to Brandi Carlile, an LGBTQ artist singing America the Beautiful, Charlie Puth singing the National Anthem and of course, Bad Bunny headlining the half-time show with guests like Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, Cardi B, and Karol G. This was a celebration of diversity and inclusion on one of the world’s biggest stages. The theme was Love over Hate. Everyone mattered. Every voice mattered. Nothing political was highlighted. Just humans loving on all humans. Read the full article here. |
Stephen Colbert hosts Rep. James Talarico - YouTube Texas Representative James Talarico was scheduled to be on The Stephen Colbert Show, when the FCC chair, Brendon Carr, told CBS that they were not allowed to air the interview for some legal reasons that
Colbert didn't feel held merit. It begs the question, are we that country now that has its media and press censored to only speak favorably of those in power? The good news is that you can watch the interview on YouTube here. I think he gave folks a lot of food for thought. Very courageous of him to speak up to power in this
climate of retaliation.
Hitler; The Lost Tapes of the Third Reich - Hulu
Speaking of dictators, censorship, and abolishing Democracy, I’ve started watching Hitler: The Lost Tapes of
the Third Reich, on Hulu. I’m only on episode 3 but learning more about how Hitler rose to complete and absolute power is eye-opening. We need to know the history of the world in order to prevent the same atrocities from happening again. The desire for power is deadly and unstoppable. We need to be aware of how this can happen. And the parallels to what's happening in the United States now are uncanny. It's streaming on Hulu.
When Family Goes No Contact – YouTube
So, I’ve grown my YouTube channel to host a series called Lifing Lessons with Eva, and my first broadcast in this series is about the No Contact trend that young adults are having with their families. It’s happening to famous families, David and Victoria Beckham for one, and
it’s happened to me too. In this episode of Lifing Lessons with Eva, I explore the real reasons people cut off family
relationships, including mental health struggles, boundary violations, emotional exhaustion, and communication breakdowns.
Whether you are a parent experiencing estrangement, an adult child considering distance, or someone trying to
understand the reasons behind no-contact decisions, this conversation offers perspective, compassion, and practical reflection.
