True Crime is my guilty pleasure. I’m fascinated by why and how people can hurt one another. It’s hard for me to
wrap my head around it and at the same time, it hooks me in.
After noticing the chatter about this Sean “Puffy” Combs documentary, I decided to watch it.
I watched some of the highlights of his trial this year and I wanted to see what this had to add to what was already uncovered.
Again, what stood out
were values, trust and loyalty, which is dominant in the world of gangs and thugs. I’m not going to go into the details of the many crimes that were revealed. But, if you watch this, you’ll notice how loyalty was developed and manipulated by power.
I just read a chapter in Brené Brown’s lasted book where she talked about the distinctions of Power Over, Power With, Power To, and Power Within. This was definitely a case of power over - when someone holds power over us the human spirit’s instincts range from cowering and complying to resisting and rebelling.
