Hey ,
It's been 4 years since the public murder of George Floyd and the passion around diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts is waning. And, in spite of the fatigue, there are some brave women who are speaking up and encouraging others to speak up when they see unfair practices and
discrimination, as well.
Recently, I had the privilege of attending a LinkedIn live event titled White Women
Lessons: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene & Rep. Jasmine Crockett, hosted by Karen Fleishman, Danne Smith Mathis, and Michele Simon.
I connected
with Karen and Michele because I was drawn to them and the stand that they take as white women who speak and act out against white privilege. They are actively working for inclusivity and calling out racism in white women as white women when they see it.
In light of the recent exchange between Marjorie Taylor Greene and Jasmine Crockett, it's evident that the struggles of Black women in predominantly white spaces are still very real and deeply rooted. This highlights a critical need for everyone to learn how to be effective allies and inclusive leaders.
It's not enough to acknowledge the challenges; we must actively work towards creating environments where everyone feels valued and heard. This requires education, self-awareness, and a commitment to making a difference.
I’m inviting anyone who desires to be a more inclusive leader to to check out my online course, The Inclusive Community Blueprint In this
