Intentions vs Resolutions? Here’s what I recommend.

Now that the first month of the New Year is just about over, I know you probably started off with the best of intentions for your resolutions or commitments. I have to confess, I kinda eased my way into the new year. Personally, I was a bit more focused on how I ended 2023 than how I began 2024.

We ended with a lovely trip to Mexico for the Christmas holidays. My intention is to celebrate the year with gratitude, appreciation, and relaxation. I’m not the best at taking selfies, but here’s a peek.

So, since this message is about what I recommend, here goes: I recommend gratitude. Gratitude for what worked and the lessons learned from what didn’t. I can’t recommend a gratitude practice strongly enough. It’s hard to be sad, mad, or upset when you are grateful. Just saying.

One All the Way

You won’t understand this unless you are from New Jersey. Paterson, NJ to be exact, which happens to be where I was born and raised. And, a lot of scenes from The Sopranos was filmed, I might add.

I recently discovered the VUDU Fandango app, where I can watch movies and documentaries, and I found this short documentary about Hot Texas Weiners and its origins in Paterson, New Jersey. Honestly, the best way to have a hot dog is with mustard, onions, and beanless chili. I used to sneak to the Colonial Grill across the street from my Grade School (St. Gerard’s) for lunch and would get in trouble with the nuns if I was caught.

It's a sweet, nostalgic documentary that will leave your heart warm and your stomach longing to taste a blast from the past.
