Celebration breeds confidence!

We made it to the end of 2023. Some things worked and some things did not. As high achievers, it’s so easy to focus on what didn’t work. Let’s take some time to celebrate what did and create a plan to move past what didn’t for 2024! In order for you to get out of discouragement and into forward-moving action, you need to celebrate more.

Here’s what I’m celebrating as I close out 2023! 🎉

🏆I received an Outstanding Leadership Recognition Award from the LA Tribune this month. It was truly an honor and a privilege to be at a gala where I was able to be on a leadership panel and receive an award that acknowledged me and my contribution to leadership.

My feature in Speakers Magazine

My goal in 2023 was to elevate my speaking career by getting on more stages and impacting more lives. When you have a clear goal, you take clear, focused actions that support that goal. For me, that included getting in communities that are not only diverse, but share a common goal of speaking and impacting more lives. As I take more action, I create more opportunities like this one to be featured in Speakers Magazine.

In October, I had the opportunity to be interviewed at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. I got to share what inspired me to use my skills and my voice to close the gap of inclusive opportunities for folks from diverse cultures. Watch it here!

My goal has been to be more of a resource for creating inclusive environments as a part of my high-performance coaching. Honing this message and getting it out into the world has been my focus for 2023 and will continue to be in 2024. I’m so grateful to Kivo Magazine for helping me get my message out to the world.

Every time I start something new or head in a new direction, the doubt and fears surface and threaten to slow my roll. I know it won’t be perfect and I know I will make mistakes and fail, but the learning I’m getting from my mistakes and failings are invaluable lessons that will make me better and better each time I go out there. Celebrating each win, will give me the confidence to keep going. 💫

Please, please, please, do this for yourself. Celebrate what you have done and celebrate where you are going. If you don’t have the skill set for where you are going, invest in yourself for where you want to be and don’t hold yourself back because of where you are currently in your situation.

When you know better, you’ll be better and you’ll do better. My final message of the year to you is: don’t give up on your dreams and goals. Take action to move them forward and make sure you celebrate each action and each win along the way. And, put yourself in an environment that will celebrate you as well. You can’t do this alone. Your environment is stronger than your willpower.
