Dear ,
You’ve been saying for some time now that now is not the right time, that you are not ready yet, that you have to do a, b, and c before you can do x, y, and z, and you’ve been putting off doing a, b, and c. Or, when you finally sit down to do the thing you’ve been putting off, it takes forever, and
you stop.
Fact: When you stop for a distraction or competing interest, it takes you 20 minutes to get back in the flow.
Let me ask you this: what is the impact of your habit of procrastination on your life? Insert the thing you’ve been putting off here: _______________. What is it costing you? If you don’t know, trust me, it will show you
eventually. Stuff we put off piles up over time and becomes too overwhelming to deal with. It’s just not fun.
But procrastination is a habit we use to avoid what doesn’t make us
feel good. (Tax prep, anyone?) I know you’ve been there, and it’s stressful.
What if you could learn some simple ways to beat the habit of procrastination? Would that be valuable to
you?
